Since 2008
Family-Owned.
Professionally Run.
Three generations of trucking know-how. One commitment: move every load like it's the only one we've got.
Our Story
Built by drivers,
for shippers.
Green Xtransport Corp was founded in 2008 by Robert Halsey, a third-generation trucker who watched his family's small Illinois cartage business struggle against the post-deregulation freight broker boom. Robert had a simple thesis: shippers were tired of being passed between brokers and carriers with no accountability when freight went sideways — and the industry was overdue for a cleaner, leaner approach to long-distance hauling.
Seventeen years later, that thesis still drives us. We own every truck, employ every driver, and answer every dispatch call ourselves. We've cut fleet emissions 41% per ton-mile since 2015 by spec'ing the most fuel-efficient tractors on the market and operating one of the largest electric and renewable-diesel pilot fleets in the Midwest.
Today Green Xtransport runs 2,400+ tractors and 4,800+ drivers across the continental US, Canada, and northern Mexico. We're still family-owned. We're still drivers first. And we still pick up the phone.
What We Believe
Four operating principles.
Own the Fleet
No brokered freight. Every truck on our manifest is ours. Every driver is on our payroll. Single point of accountability, always.
Pay Drivers Right
Top-quartile per-mile rates, fully-paid health benefits, and a 401(k) match. Happy drivers stay. Stable drivers haul better.
Maintain Religiously
Preventive maintenance every 25,000 miles. Average tractor age under 3 years. Breakdowns cost everyone — we plan them away.
Answer the Phone
24/7 live dispatch. No phone trees. Real humans who know your account, your lanes, and your schedule.
Safety First
CSA scores well below FMCSA thresholds. Drivers vetted, retrained, and refreshed annually. Zero is the only acceptable accident count.
Cut Emissions
SmartWay® partner since 2012. APUs on every long-haul tractor, electric day-cab pilot, renewable diesel where available. Cleaner freight is just better freight.
From Our Founder
My grandfather drove a 1948 White WC22 hauling produce out of Iowa. The trucks have changed — the way we power them is changing again. The job hasn't. You promise to move someone's freight, and you move it. That's the whole business.
